White-Label — Start Here
What you get:
Unlimited number of white-label tenants — your own branded space with its own Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) such as
4b0939dc.obcbackup.com. Each tenant can have its own branding, customer sign up page, and download links.A customer control panel (public-facing) — your customers sign in at the tenant’s hostname (for example,
4b0939dc.obcbackup.comor your custom domain) to remotely manage the backup client, view logs, and self-serve. This is not the Managed Service Provider’s administration portal.Partner Hub controls (Managed Service Provider-only) — from your eazyBackup client area you’ll manage tenants, branding, the public registration page, and “Create Backup Account” actions.
Optional custom domain — point
backup.yourdomain.com(a subdomain you control) at your tenant, so customers see your brand in the browser address bar.Email branding options — either use our parent mail server to send from our MSP product obcbackup.com domain, or bring your own SMTP server so messages come from your domain
backup.yourdomain.comwith your logo image and brand name. If you are are using your own domain, consider setting up SPF and DKIM for the best deliverability. What are DMARC, DKIM, and SPF?
Key concepts
1) Tenants
A tenant is a self-contained white-label environment. If you are a backup service provider, you can create many tenants, if you like. Each one has its own hostname, branding, public registration page, and download links. Customers for that tenant log in at the tenant hostname (or your custom domain) to manage their devices.
2) Custom domains (must use a subdomain)
If you want customers to visit backup.acme.com instead of 4b0939dc.obcbackup.com, add a DNS CNAME record from your subdomain to your tenant hostname (for example, backup.acme.com → 18ca4e04.obcbackup.com).
Important: You must use a subdomain like backup.acme.com, not the root domain acme.com. DNS does not allow a CNAME at the apex because the root must hold certain records (SOA and NS). Some providers offer “CNAME flattening/ALIAS/ANAME” features to imitate this at the apex, but our flow expects a true subdomain.
3) Certificates (automatic, via ACME)
After your CNAME is in place and verified, we automatically issue a Let's Encrypt TLS certificate using ACME.
4) Email options
Parent mail server (quick start): We send messages from the OBC domain with default branding—no setup required on your side.
Your SMTP server (full branding): Messages come from your domain with your company/product names and header image. For better deliverability, configure SPF and DKIM on your domain, and consider DMARC for policy and reporting. Cloudflare
5) DNS timing
DNS changes vary by provider, cache, and the Time-to-Live (TTL) you set. Many updates land in minutes, but some providers—or resolvers still honoring longer TTLs—can take longer. If you do not see the change right away, give it time, then re-check.
Quick-start checklist
Create a tenant Use the white-label intake flow (Order New Services → White - Label) in your eazyBackup client area. When white-label build completes, you will have a working white-label tenant on a
*.obcbackup.comhostname with your branding.(Optional) Attach your custom subdomain Create a CNAME such as
backup.acme.com → 18ca4e04.obcbackup.com. Wait for DNS to update, then from your client area Partner Hub → White-Label Tenants click Check DNS, and then click Attach Domain to trigger certificate issuance.Tune branding From the client area Partner Hub → White-Label Tenants page you can fully manage your branding. You can update your logo and other images, change page title, product names and colours. The desktop client, email headers, and download buttons will reflect your brand.
Choose email mode Start with the parent mail server, or enter your SMTP details to send from your domain. If you bring your own SMTP, add SPF and DKIM for your domain.
Enable customer self-service registration (optional) Turn on the public facing Registration Page for that tenant so your customers can sign up directly. You can also place orders yourself from the client area using Create Backup Account.
Share the download link Direct customers to your tenant’s control panel login page (on your custom domain or the tenant hostname) to download and install the branded client.
Login for MSPs and End-Customers
Managed Service Providers can manage tenants, branding, domains, and orders in the Partner Hub inside the eazyBackup client area.
End-customers sign in at the tenant hostname or your custom subdomain to manage protected items, vaults, view job logs, and to remotely manage the backup client.
Common questions
Can I point my root domain (for example, acme.com) at my tenant?
You must use a subdomain. CNAMEs don't work at the apex (root) alongside the required SOA and NS records; some providers simulate this with “flattening,” but our supported path is a true subdomain like backup.acme.com.
How long until my custom domain works? Many DNS updates appear within minutes; others can take longer depending on caches and TTL. If it has been a while, re-check your CNAME from the client area, Partner Hub → White-Label Tenants, click Check DNS to try again.
Do I have to configure SPF/DKIM/DMARC if I use your parent mail server? No. If you use your SMTP server, set up SPF and DKIM at a minimum, and consider DMARC for policy and reporting to improve deliverability.
