How to Use an e3 Storage Bucket with eazyBackup
This guide will walk you through the process of creating an S3 compatible storage bucket in your e3 storage dashboard and configuring it as a backup location in the eazyBackup desktop application.
Part 1: Create a New Bucket in Your e3 Storage Dashboard
First, you will need to create a new storage bucket from our Object Storage Dashboard.
From the eazyBackup client area, open the Object Storage menu.
Open the Buckets Page: Select the Buckets page to view and manage your storage buckets.

Create a New Bucket: Click on the "Create new bucket" button.
Name Your Bucket: Enter a unique name for your bucket.
Assign an Owner: Select the User who will own and have access to this bucket.
Click Create to finalize the bucket creation.
Now that you have created an S3 compatible bucket. The next step is to configure this bucket as a storage location in the eazyBackup application.
Part 2: Configure a New Storage Vault in eazyBackup
Open the eazyBackup desktop application to add your newly created e3 bucket as the primary storage vault.
Open Settings: In the eazyBackup application, open the Settings menu.

Go to Storage Vaults: Select the Storage Vaults tab.

Remove Default Vault: To avoid conflicts, select the default 'eazyBackup' storage vault and click the Remove button. Confirm the removal when prompted.
Add a New Vault: Click the + (Add) button to begin adding a new storage location.
Select 'Custom': From the list of options, choose Custom.

Name Your Vault: Provide a descriptive name for this new vault, for example, "e3 Storage".
Choose Storage Type: Under the "Type of storage" dropdown menu, select S3-compatible.

Now, you will need to enter the specific details for your e3 storage bucket.
Configure the e3 Storage Location
Fill in the following fields to connect eazyBackup to your e3 bucket:

Hostname: Enter your service hostname. You can find this API endpoint URL on the Access Keys page of your e3 cloud storage dashboard.
Region: Leave this set to the default setting of Automatic.
Access key / Secret key: Enter your unique access and secret keys. These can also be found on the Access Keys page of your e3 storage dashboard.

Bucket: Enter the exact name of the bucket you created in Part 1.
Subdirectory: For organizational purposes, enter backup-data. This will create a specific folder within your bucket for the backups.
Test the Connection: Click the Test Connection button to verify that the details you have entered are correct and a connection to the bucket can be established.
Save Your Changes: Once the test is successful, click Next and then Save to complete the configuration.
You are all set! You have successfully configured your e3 S3 compatible storage bucket as the primary backup location in eazyBackup. When you create a new Protected Item to back up your files, the data will now be sent to the e3 bucket you added as a Storage Vault.
