# Cancel or delete the service

Cancel e3 Object Storage, final charges, Object Lock restrictions, and data deletion.

You can cancel **e3 Object Storage** from the client portal when you are the account owner. Cancellation removes the service, users, buckets, and all stored data.

**Permanent:** Cancellation deletes buckets, objects, users, and keys. This cannot be undone. Export data before canceling.

## Before you cancel

1. **Download** anything you need (Bucket Browser, S3 client, or backup app restore).
2. **Delete or empty buckets** that are not protected by Object Lock.
3. For **Object Lock** buckets, remove legal holds or wait for retention to expire, then delete objects and buckets.

You **cannot** complete cancellation while buckets still have **Object Lock** protections that block deletion. Remove protections or delete those buckets first.

## Final charge

When you cancel the service, a **final usage charge** is typically processed within **24 hours**, based on actual usage through cancellation.

If usage is under **1 TiB**, the **$9 CAD** monthly minimum fee may apply for that final period. See How billing works.

## Cancel from My Services

1. Sign in at [accounts.eazybackup.ca](https://accounts.eazybackup.ca/).
2. Open **My Services**.
3. Select your **e3 Object Storage** service (listed under your object storage product).
4. Open **Actions** → **Cancel Service**.
5. Confirm the cancellation date and details in the modal.
6. Complete confirmation to finalize.

The UI may ask when you want the service ended. After processing, access to the e3 Object Storage tabs and data is removed.

## Account owner only

Only the **account owner** can cancel the service. Sub-account contacts without owner rights should ask the owner or support.
